Mixed Media Watercolors

These two paintings are part of a series dedicated to ancient Goddesses. They are titled "Inana" and "Oester", respectively.

Mural

I bought a condo this year (my first!) so I decided to paint a mural on one of the walls. The colors reflect the color scheme of the entire living/dining/kitchen area, which is one big space.

Cambridge Open Studios May 2009

This year I exhibited at Cambridge Open Studios in a group location in Central Square. I happened to bring some supplies with me, which turned out to be a good idea. As you can see, I met some young artists who wanted to play. I hung up their work with mine and they loved being a part of it.

Transformation of Self

Drawings

These drawings were created out of my curiosity and research of a combination of things. Namely, art as a visual language, the use of symbols throughout history, the role of "play" in art and our primal instincts to communicate. I enjoyed using colorful chalk pastels as the vehicle for these studies. I also used india ink, conte crayons, china markers, oil pastels, white-out, and colored pencil sticks.

Welcome to Spira9 Art

I've set up this blog to post some of my artwork. I'm currently working on a number of projects, namely paintings and drawings, both of which are an ongoing series. Enjoy!
